Since 1950, the energy of change

Our journey began in the post–World War II period and spans over half a century of technological, infrastructural, and environmental evolution. Always alongside communities, always driven by a passion for energy that improves life.
1950
The company was founded as a business active in the extraction and distribution of natural gas in the provinces of Veneto and Emilia-Romagna, including Padua, Vicenza, Rovigo, and Ferrara.
It quickly stood out for its pioneering use of plastic pipelines, an innovative alternative to traditional materials such as cement, cast iron, and asbestos.
1958

Gas Porto Tolle S.r.l. became S.A.G. – Società Adriatica per il Gas S.p.A., which managed the methanization of the municipalities surrounding Padua and several towns in the provinces of Ferrara, Rovigo, and Vicenza, becoming the fifth-largest urban natural gas distribution company in Italy.

Years later (1998), SAG – Società Adriatica per il Gas S.p.A. was sold to Edison S.p.A. and became EDISON DG.

1974

Raoul Casellato founded Società Impianti Metano S.p.A. (Si.Me.), a company specialized in the design, construction, and management of infrastructures, which initially operated for Società Adriatica per il Gas S.p.A.

On behalf of Azienda Gas di Padova (now Acegas Aps, part of the HERA Group), Si.Me. carried out the methanization of the Padua area and introduced innovative polyethylene materials.

The company’s pioneering use of advanced materials contributed to Si.Me.’s success at the European and international levels. Over the years, the company built over 5,000 km of pipelines.

1983

In a perspective of continuity, Paolo and Guido, Raul Casellato’s sons, took over the management of the companies.

The technical and managerial know-how was strengthened through new concessions for the management of the natural gas distribution service.

2002

Following the unbundling required by the Letta Decree, ENERGYCOM S.p.A. was founded as a natural gas reseller. The company grew rapidly and expanded its business, reaching 23,000 customers with 65 million m³/year sold.

It was sold to E.ON Energie Srl in 2006.

2003

From the rationalization of gas distribution activities, COSECON DISTRIBUZIONE S.P.A. was established, initially dedicated to managing the service on behalf of its members but later becoming active in natural gas distribution in the provinces of Padua and Vicenza.

In 2006, the company became Veneto Distribuzione S.p.A., managing the natural gas distribution service in over 20 municipalities, with an infrastructure of over 600 km and a customer base of more than 20,000 served.

2010

Veneto Distribuzione S.p.A. further strengthened its position by acquiring shares of Attiva S.p.A. and became Enerco Distribuzione S.p.A..
The Centro Veneto Servizi S.p.A. (CVS) — a public company managing the integrated water service for 59 municipalities, reaching over 250,000 inhabitants — joined the share capital of Enerco Distribuzione.

2015

Enerco Distribuzione, through the purchase of its own shares, acquired the stake of CVS S.p.A..

The company manages natural gas distribution service concessions in 27 municipalities, with an infrastructure of over 800 km and a customer base of more than 30,000 served.

2017

The group, following the transfer of ownership of the distribution networks to Italgas, focused on the design, management, and maintenance activities of third-party gas distribution networks, as well as on projects for the production and management of energy from renewable sources.

Centro Veneto Energie S.r.l. also became part of the group. Through a capillary network of multi-service offices throughout the territory, it operates as an electricity and gas reseller and offers energy efficiency services designed for residential customers.
